What is a CDP supplier request? (in plain English)

The short answer
CDP is a system big companies use to collect climate information from the businesses they buy from. If a customer sent you a 'CDP request', they want you to report how much carbon dioxide (CO₂) your business produces, through CDP's website.
Why you got the request
Big companies now have to report the emissions of their whole supply chain — and that includes you. Asking their suppliers is how they get the numbers. Responding is often tied to staying a preferred supplier, which is why it feels urgent.
What it actually asks for
At its core: how much energy and fuel you used, turned into CO₂. That means your electricity, gas, vehicle fuel, and sometimes deliveries and travel. The hard part isn't the questions — it's turning your bills into the right numbers.
CDP is filled in on their website (a portal), so there's no file to hand back. You copy your answers in.
